Interacciona, a public meeting in Asturias

What did you organize, when, where and for how many people?

Interacciona, a public meeting between all kind people and the ones who represent the collectives, platforms or associations related with bioconstruction, sustainability, actuality, free knowledge, permaculture and degrowth that came to the event and work in this case in our province, Asturias, or sometimes connected with others from the rest of Spain. This meeting was organized the 2nd of June, in a beautiful park in front of the beach, in a big circle bench, and an important spot in the city where the citizens can join, listen and observe during the activity. The activity was ready from 10 to 50 people. We were about 17 in this case, but some of the collectives want to give continuity to Interacciona in the future, organizing it once per three months.

What were the main goals and objectives of the activity?

The main goals were to recuperate a space for public conversations about Nature and sustainability, about our society, and our actions that determine our future. To get in touch with people that works in the fields of permaculture, degrowth, bioconstruction, sustainability.. and learn about them, get to know their projects, been inspired by them. Interexchange of knowledge between people, about eco-actions we do in our daily life. Expand our sensibility to nature, to what it represents, in a inner activity as energizer that make us breath, move our bodies, dance, talk, feel and think.

What were the main outcomes and results of the activity?

All of the platforms got to know each other and their projects, some of them joined in ideas for the future, about degrowth and bioconstruction. We got a deep feeling for nature in that moment, all together sharing, dancing or moving in the different parts of the activity, being more connected to the earth, the air, the trees and the sea, and the animals. A deep emotion that helps us to love the present and work for a better future. We got inspired. People could exchange information, but it would be better if more general people would come. At the beginning the activity was an open space but it was flexible modified to a big circle of conversation and shared time and projects. Also we got to know the permaculture project of La Buruyosa, where we will be so happy to visit this summer, possibly with more people to inspire them as well to work better for our present and future.

Are there any other relevant aspects related to the activity, a conclusion or future plan?

The conclusion was that we need to continue doing activities like this to inspire the people and expand the knowledge and the ways that exists about sustainability in this time of our lifes. Interacciona was so interesting for the people that they want to continue doing this, every three months, in different public spaces, to get more visibility and interaction with everybody.
